Trump and Musk Collaborate to Provide Starlink Internet for Hurricane Helene Victims

In a surprising turn of events, former President Donald Trump announced at a campaign rally in Georgia that he is collaborating with tech mogul Elon Musk to provide emergency Starlink satellite internet services to the millions of Hurricane Helene victims left without power in the devastated Southeastern United States. However, it was later revealed that the White House had already deployed dozens of Starlink systems in North Carolina, with over 100 more on the way to other affected areas.

Despite being late to the game, Trump’s communication with Musk prompted the tech billionaire to send additional Starlink terminals to North Carolina. The response from Musk and SpaceX has been swift, with the company emphasizing the importance of providing high-bandwidth internet access in emergency situations.

Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc across ten Southeast states, leaving over 2 million people without electricity and causing significant damage. The storm’s impact has been catastrophic, with over 100 fatalities reported and thousands more missing. Musk’s Starlink satellite service has already been praised by one survivor for its quick and reliable connectivity during the crisis.

This isn’t the first time Musk has offered Starlink services in times of need, as he previously provided free terminals to Ukraine following the Russian invasion in 2022. With the upcoming presidential election looming, Musk has publicly expressed his support for Trump over Democratic rival Kamala Harris. Trump, in turn, has hinted at offering Musk an advisory role in the White House if he emerges victorious on November 5th.
