UAE to Host Groundbreaking International Defence Conference in Abu Dhabi

The UAE Ministry of Defence is set to host the International Defence Industry, Technology and Security Conference (IDITSC) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) on March 2nd and 3rd, 2022. Marking a significant milestone, this is the first conference of its kind to focus on defence industry advancements in the Middle East, drawing global attention to the region’s ongoing security dialogues.

The event, backed by prominent partners such as G42 and EDGE Group, will feature over 70 distinguished speakers from around the world. Attendees can look forward to a rich program comprising more than 55 sessions, workshops, and seminars designed to foster collaboration among leaders from the defence sector, policymakers, and researchers.

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi, UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, emphasized the conference’s importance amid current global challenges. “The IDITSC serves as a crucial platform for raising awareness about how the UAE’s military hardware and technology comply with international standards and domestic regulations,” Al Bowardi stated.

The conference also presents an opportunity for students and professionals to gain insight into the complexities of international defence governance, aiming to bolster the UAE’s position as a reliable player in the global defence market.

Major General Staff Dr. Eng. Mubarak Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri highlighted the UAE’s commitment to establishing independent defensive capabilities. Meanwhile, leaders like Mansoor AlMansoori of G42 and Faisal Al Bannai of EDGE Group underscored the critical role of technology, particularly AI, in shaping future military landscapes.

As IDITSC approaches, it promises to enhance international military cooperation and showcase the UAE’s dedication to becoming a leader in the innovative defence sector, setting the stage for a new era of strategic partnerships in global security.
