Germany Takes Center Stage with 60% of Expert Speakers at GITEX AI EUROPE 2026
Germany is set to play a pivotal role at GITEX AI EUROPE 2026, showcasing a formidable speaker lineup that includes government officials, tech leaders, and quantum experts. This multinational event, taking place from June 30 to July 1, 2026, at Messe Berlin, aims to address critical issues surrounding artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and technological innovation.
A Diverse Speaker Lineup
The event will feature over 150 expert speakers from 33 countries, with German representatives making up 60% of the total. This underscores Germany’s commitment to leading discussions on the future of technology in Europe. The exhibition will also host more than 950 enterprises and startups, alongside over 600 investors, all focused on capitalizing on a European tech market projected to exceed €1.5 trillion by 2026.
Key Themes and Sessions
GITEX AI EUROPE will revolve around five main themes: DeepTech & Critical Supply Chains, Compute & AI Stack, Secure Infra & Cyber Power, Capital & Scale-Up Engine, and Policy to Production. Each theme aims to tackle pressing issues related to AI deployment, infrastructure resilience, and regulatory frameworks.
DeepTech & Critical Supply Chains
Dr. Karsten Wildberger, Germany’s Federal Minister for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation, will kick off the event with a Main Stage session titled “The Gigawatt Guarantee: Engineering Europe’s Industrial AI Supremacy.” This session will focus on the industrial capacity challenges that underpin the DeepTech & Critical Supply Chains theme.
Following Dr. Wildberger, Klaus Müller, President of the Bundesnetzagentur, will participate in a panel discussion titled “Who Controls Computing When AI Outgrows Europe’s Grids and Networks?” This session will delve into the implications of AI on existing infrastructure and regulatory frameworks.
Compute & AI Stack
In the Compute & AI Stack segment, Prof. Dr. Robert Mayr, CEO of DATEV eG, will discuss how technology can create real value for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He emphasizes that while Europe has a strong foundation for AI development, overregulation could stifle innovation.
Dr. Jarek Kutylowski, CEO of DeepL, will also take the stage to discuss Europe’s competitive advantage in building intelligence infrastructure. His insights will be crucial as AI technologies transition from experimental phases to mainstream applications.
Secure Infra & Cyber Power
The Secure Infra & Cyber Power theme will feature discussions on quantum technology and cybersecurity. Dr. Markus Pflitsch, CEO of Terra Quantum, will address the question of which quantum infrastructure Europe should prioritize. This session will highlight the urgency of developing quantum-resilient infrastructure.
Dr. Katrin Kobe, CEO of Bosch Quantum Sensing, and Dr. Alexander Glätzle, CEO of planqc, will join a panel to argue that European leaders must act swiftly to adopt quantum technologies, emphasizing that waiting for maturity could be detrimental.
Capital & Scale-Up Engine
Stefan B. Wintels, CEO of KfW, will present on the role of state-backed financing in fostering innovation. His session will serve as a model for how Germany’s capital engine can be replicated across Europe. Florian Heinemann of Project A will follow with a discussion on the challenges of funding growth-stage companies in deep tech.
Implications for the Future
The discussions at GITEX AI EUROPE 2026 will not only highlight Germany’s leadership in technology but also set the stage for broader conversations about the future of AI and cybersecurity in Europe. With a focus on regulatory frameworks, infrastructure, and capital investment, the event aims to create a roadmap for sustainable technological advancement.
GITEX AI EUROPE is organized by inD, a joint venture between Dubai World Trade Centre and Informa, and is supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, as well as Berlin Partner for Business and Technology.
