Microsoft Corp. and G42 Announce New Initiatives for Responsible AI in Abu Dhabi
Microsoft Corp. and G42, a leading technology company, have announced the establishment of two new centres in Abu Dhabi to advance their collaboration in the field of Responsible AI. These initiatives aim to ensure that AI is used responsibly and serves the world in a positive manner.
The first centre, co-founded and co-funded by G42 and Microsoft, will focus on identifying, developing, and advancing best practices and industry standards for the responsible use of AI in the Middle East and the Global South. This centre will bring together academic researchers and AI practitioners to develop and share emerging Responsible AI best practices.
The second centre will be an expansion of Microsoft’s AI for Good Research Lab into Abu Dhabi. This lab will collaborate with nonprofit organizations and partners to address key economic and societal challenges across the Middle East and Africa. It will prioritize the development of large language models for underrepresented languages and focus on advancing food security and strengthening climate resilience.
