Exclusive Report: Heritage Foundation Files Requests with NASA Regarding Elon Musk and Donald Trump

The Heritage Foundation, a prominent US conservative think tank, has made headlines with its recent actions. According to an exclusive Reuters report, the organization has filed numerous requests with NASA to uncover internal discussions about billionaire Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump.

The Washington DC-based institute has submitted a series of Freedom of Information requests to NASA, aiming to identify employees who have talked about Musk and Trump. The Heritage Foundation’s efforts are part of a larger strategy to assist Trump in identifying and removing uncooperative civil servants if he is reelected in November.

The conservative group believes that agencies like NASA may be hindering progress for private companies like SpaceX, Musk’s aerospace company. Mike Howell, the director of the Heritage Foundation’s investigative unit, argues that NASA and other regulators are too focused on cultural and identity politics, rather than advancing innovation in space.

Critics view the requests as a partisan attempt to target civil servants who oppose Trump’s plan to appoint Musk as a government efficiency czar. The Heritage Foundation has filed over 190 open records requests with NASA since September 3, seeking employee communications related to Musk, Trump, and Musk’s companies like Tesla and SpaceX.

Despite the controversy surrounding the requests, neither NASA nor Musk have commented on the matter. The Heritage Foundation’s actions are seen as part of a broader campaign to influence government policies and personnel decisions. As the 2024 election approaches, the organization’s efforts to uncover information about Trump, Musk, and federal agencies continue to draw attention and scrutiny.
