Censys Appoints Meriam ElOuazzani as Vice President for META Region

A Strategic Move for Cybersecurity

Censys has made a significant announcement with the appointment of Meriam ElOuazzani as its inaugural Vice President for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) region. In her new position, ElOuazzani is charged with shaping the company’s comprehensive growth strategy in the area, focusing on revenue enhancement, establishing partnerships, and community building. Her leadership aims to position Censys as the primary and trusted provider of external attack surface intelligence across the region.

Strengthening Regional Commitment

Sarah Ashburn, the Chief Revenue Officer at Censys, expressed excitement about ElOuazzani’s appointment. She noted that this step deepens Censys’s investment in a region poised for robust growth. “Meriam’s extensive experience in scaling cybersecurity markets within META, coupled with her insightful understanding of the local landscape, makes her the ideal leader to enhance our market presence and address the increasing demand for reliable internet intelligence,” Ashburn stated.

Extensive Industry Experience

Meriam ElOuazzani brings over 20 years of rich experience in the cybersecurity and enterprise technology sectors. Throughout her career, she has successfully built and expanded various markets within the META region, focusing on assembling effective teams, creating channel ecosystems, and devising strategic marketing plans. Notably, during her tenure as Senior Regional Director at SentinelOne, ElOuazzani set up the go-to-market strategy for the region. She has also held several pivotal roles at VMware throughout MENA, contributing to the enhancement of channel partnerships, security frameworks, and distribution networks aimed at accelerating growth.

Prior to her role at Censys, she led the Regional Product Sales for Mobility at Cisco Systems across the Middle East. At Censys, ElOuazzani will prioritize developing strategic partnerships among government agencies and enterprises. This focus includes collaboration with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) and hyperscalers, which will facilitate efficient scaling across diverse markets.

The Changing Landscape of Cybersecurity

According to ElOuazzani, the META region is currently experiencing a crucial shift in cybersecurity maturity. Governments and businesses are increasingly moving beyond traditional perimeter defenses, demanding real-time threat detection and enhanced visibility into their digital operations. “In my two decades in this region, I’ve seen firsthand how effective intelligence can revolutionize security operations,” she commented. ElOuazzani emphasized that Censys’s internet intelligence platform provides security teams with accurate, real-time insights into their vulnerabilities, transforming uncertainty into informed responses.

The Role of Censys in Digital Security

Censys specializes in helping security teams monitor their digital exposure and detect potential threats before they can be exploited. Their platform continuously maps internet-facing assets, services, and critical infrastructures, allowing organizations to make informed decisions based on precise insights into their digital presence.

Recognized for advancing internet-scale attack surface mapping and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) threat intelligence, Censys has garnered considerable industry recognition and built valuable partnerships worldwide. In the META region, they have already aligned with Rilian Technologies to advance their internet intelligence and ICS/OT capabilities for sovereign nations and critical infrastructures.

Future Expansion and Team Growth

With the aim of fortifying its regional presence, Censys has also appointed Rajaee Al-Dalgamouni as Regional Sales Director for META and Ahmed Ehlayel as the Manager of Solutions Engineering for the region. This expansion of the team underscores Censys’s commitment to empowering its efforts in establishing a strong foothold in the META cybersecurity landscape, aligning closely with national cybersecurity priorities.

Censys is poised to play a pivotal role in transforming regional cybersecurity mechanisms, fostering proactive intelligence, and enhancing overall digital resilience.
