Oracle Strengthens Saudi Arabia’s AI Economy with Opening of Second Public Cloud Region
Oracle has announced the opening of its second public cloud region in Saudi Arabia, located in Riyadh, as part of a US$1.5 billion investment to boost the country’s cloud capacity in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The new Riyadh cloud region will cater to the increasing demand for AI and cloud services in the region, allowing public and private sector organizations to migrate various workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This move will provide access to a wide range of cloud services to help modernize applications and drive innovation with data, analytics, and AI.
With Center3 as the host partner for the new Oracle Cloud Riyadh Region, Oracle aims to enhance the Kingdom’s AI economy, which is projected to reach US$135.2 billion by 2030. The region joins the existing Oracle Cloud Jeddah Region and the planned Oracle Cloud Region in NEOM, further expanding Oracle’s footprint in Saudi Arabia.
His Excellency Eng. Haytham Alohali, Vice Minister at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, praised the opening of Oracle’s new cloud region, highlighting its significance in boosting the digital economy based on modern technologies and innovation.
Oracle’s Executive Vice President and General Manager for EMEA Cloud Infrastructure, Richard Smith, emphasized the company’s commitment to helping Saudi Arabia develop a strong digital economy. This sentiment was echoed by partners and analysts who welcomed the new public cloud region as a vital step in fostering technological innovation and driving the digital economy of the Kingdom.
The Oracle Cloud Riyadh Region will provide customers and partners with a resilient and scalable cloud foundation, enabling them to leverage low-latency access to cloud services, enhance data sovereignty, and drive digital transformation across various sectors.
