Huawei Hosts Roundtable Discussion on Cybersecurity at SAMENA Leaders’ Summit 2024

Huawei, in collaboration with the SAMENA Telecommunications Council and stc, recently hosted a critical roundtable discussion on cybersecurity at the SAMENA Leaders’ Summit 2024. The session, titled “Building Telecom Cyber Resilience to Protect Business in the Digital Era,” brought together telecom operators, cybersecurity experts, and regulatory decision-makers.

Led by Mazen Al Ahmadi, General Manager of Cyber Defense at stc, the roundtable featured distinguished guests and high-level speakers who discussed the importance of boosting telecom cyber resilience in an interconnected world. The event highlighted the crucial role of cybersecurity in the success of businesses operating in the digital landscape, emphasizing the need to protect against cyber threats and data breaches.

Experts at the roundtable addressed the challenges posed by advanced technologies like 5G networks integrated with cloud and AI capabilities. They discussed strategies, tools, and skill sets needed to build resilience in telecom networks, as well as the support required from regulatory authorities. The session also explored real-world cybersecurity use cases and the importance of collaboration among industry stakeholders to address existing and future challenges.

Mohammed Alosaimi, Chief Security Officer at Huawei Saudi Arabia, reaffirmed Huawei’s commitment to strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure and building a secure digital ecosystem. The roundtable concluded with a focus on fostering collaboration and adherence to international standards to enhance resilience across the telecom ecosystem.
