The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has kicked into high gear in Jaipur, Rajasthan, following the Rajasthan High Court’s directive to investigate allegations of illegal sand mining in the state. The CBI has re-registered the case, originally filed as FIR No. 527/2023 at the Bundi police station after a suspect was caught transporting a substantial 40 metric tons of sand without proper documentation. The vehicle owner involved in the illicit act has also been apprehended and is currently in judicial custody.
In a swift move, the CBI raided the accused’s residence in Bundi, uncovering a trove of evidence that may shed light on the full extent of the illegal operation.
